Rt. 8 is Great!

5 of us set out this morning at 0630 from Tower Park in Ft. Thomas for a 47 miler on some beautiful roads, a great route provided byMatt Bell. Down the monster hill (which unfortunately had to be ascended on the return) and east bound on Rt. 8 for some nice tempo riding. We hit some nice hills, including Christmas Tree, Painter Rd. and a few others I'll need to find later so I can go back and pick up my legs, (glad to see Dan's heavy new bike isn't slowing him down).

Good time all around including some Starbucks afterwards, thanks Nick!!

Ah yes, this post warms my heart. The early morning warm weather mid-western country roads ride is the bread and butter - the life's blood - of the team building training rides. The post ride Starbucks is the icing on the cake. Now that I've been out here for almost a year the landscape in the photo looks almost foreign, but all too familiar at the same time. This is the stuff that I really miss.

wow... Painter? Really? The best ones hurt the most. Next on your list out in that direction needs to be Megatron (Gunkel #3 which has been renamed to Vineyard). Start from the South end and head North. Dead Timber is a good one too. I love that part of KY. Sounds like a good ride.
